Police: Driver killed in Bronx crash after hitting train pillar


NEW YORK — New York City police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident in the Bronx.

It happened on Jerome Avenue between East 196th Street and Morris Avenue at 2:19 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the driver of a 1999 Lexus was found unconscious and unresponsive inside the vehicle.

A preliminary police investigation determined that the victim struck an elevated train pillar.
