BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — A near record setting mark by Northwestern State quarterback highlighted the winning efforts of the third round of Louisiana Sports Writers Association Players of the Week.

Zach Adkins had a big weekend game that included 19 straight completions in a win over Southern to win offensive player honors, while Nico Marley of Tulane keyed the Tulane defense to earn its first Yulman Stadium win to capture defensive honors. Finally, Daniel Cadona of Louisiana-Lafayette had an outstanding punting game against Ole Miss, averaging over 50 yards in seven attempts for the special team award.
