MINOT, North Dakota — A North Dakota man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison on a drug charge.

Steven Kuykendall, of Minot, pleaded guilty in May to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. A second charge was dropped in exchange for the plea.

Authorities say officers seized 2½ pounds of methamphetamine during a search of Kuykendall's residence in September 2013.

A federal public defender could not be reached for comment.
