Police: 2 arrested after suspect points gun at officer, leads 2-state police chase

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis police have arrested two suspects after a chase that went back and forth across the Mississippi River.

Police say the two-state chase started Tuesday night when officers tried to pull over a carjacking suspect. They say a passenger pointed a gun at the officer but dropped the weapon after the car hit a bump in the road.

Police say the suspects fled down a highway into Illinois and eventually crashed in Missouri.

No officers were injured. It's unclear if the suspects were injured.

Police say the rifle was recovered.
