CHARLESTON, South Carolina — Two Charleston County men have been sentenced to 65 years in prison in the shooting death two years ago of an Horry County man.

Solicitor Scarlett Wilson tells local media outlets that a Charleston County jury on Friday found the two guilty of attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

But the jury was unable to reach a verdict on murder charges brought against 20-year-old Denzel Heyward of North Charleston and 19-year-old Dashaun Simmons of Charleston.

Authorities say that 20-year-old Kadeem Chamber of Longs in Horry County was shot and killed in May of 2012 in a car on Johns Island. The victim's half brother was forced out of the car and beaten but managed to run to safety.
