Chamber event added before Sanford-Colbert Busch to speak Tuesday at Goose Creek NAACP event

CHARLESTON, South Carolina — A third joint campaign appearance with former Gov. Mark Sanford and Democrat Elizabeth Colbert (KOHL'-buhrt) Busch has been set in their race for the state's 1st Congressional District seat.

The candidates are scheduled to appear Tuesday evening in Charleston at an event sponsored by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. That event will be just before a forum sponsored by the Goose Creek NAACP.

On Monday, the candidates will debate at The Citadel in an event sponsored by the South Carolina Radio Network, Charleston television station WCBD and the Patch news service.

Sanford, who won a runoff for the Republican nomination, Colbert Busch and Green Party candidate Eugene Platt meet May 7 in a special election to fill the seat left vacant by U.S. Sen. Tim Scott.
