Family identifies teen victim of Missoula crash, driver still hospitalized


MISSOULA, Montana — A 17-year-old Missoula boy who died of injuries suffered in a weekend car crash has been identified.

Family members told the Missoulian ( ) that Dante James Martin died Saturday evening from injuries sustained in the crash Saturday morning in Missoula. The 16-year-old driver of the car remained hospitalized in critical condition. His name has not been released.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the crash happened at 8:15 a.m. Saturday when a speeding car passed another vehicle in a no-passing zone and then struck the back of a vehicle in front of him as he returned to the driving lane. The car went off the road and crashed into a bridge.
