Shreveport Police capture inmate who escaped work detail


SHREVEPORT, Louisiana — An inmate who walked away from a work detail near downtown Shreveport is back in custody.

KTBS-TV reports ( ) 36-year-old Patrick Anderson, of Shreveport, fled the detail just before 3 p.m. Monday. A police spokesman says Anderson was captured shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday after authorities determined he was at a home in west Shreveport.

He was arrested without incident.

Anderson, who was serving a 30-day sentence for misdemeanor crimes, was set to be released Friday. He now faces a charge of simple escape and was booked into the city jail.
