GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado — Authorities have released the name of a 28-year-old bicyclist who was hit and killed by a truck in Grand Junction.

The Mesa County coroner's office identified the man Tuesday as Michael Snowden, of Medford, Oregon. Snowden, who was not wearing a helmet, died of blunt-force trauma at a nearby hospital.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports (http://goo.gl/CAmsT4 ) he crossed two lanes of traffic before being hit by a truck in the far right lane Monday morning. Police Sgt. Dave Stassen says it appears Snowden disregarded a red light.

The driver is not expected to be charged.
