LEESBURG, Virginia — Police in northern Virginia say a school lockdown was lifted after a report of a possible gunman turned out to be a student with headphones.

Leesburg police Lt. Jeff Dube says the report at Loudoun County High School came in shortly after 8 a.m. Police responded, put the school on lockdown and began a search.

Soon after Dube says they soon after located someone matching a general description given by the caller, and that it turned out to be a student. He was not armed but was wearing headphones.
