ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The body of a Tanana snowmachiner missing for two days was found Wednesday.
Alaska State Troopers say in a website post that the body of 40-year-old George Roberts was recovered Wednesday afternoon in an open lead to the Tanana River.
Searchers concentrated in the area after his snowmachine was discovered nearby earlier in the day.
The body will be sent to Anchorage for an autopsy. Family members have been notified.
KTUU reports (http://bit.ly/Idtzsq) Roberts was separated from a group of other snowmachiners Monday night on the Tanana River. He was last seen about 11:15 p.m. five miles upriver from Tanana.
