Pedestrian hit by car in Wheat Ridge dies; driver to be charged with DUI, vehicular homicide

WHEAT RIDGE, Colorado — A 48-year-old man who was hit by a car in Wheat Ridge over the weekend has died.

Police say John Thomas Gilmore III was found lying in the middle of the street with critical injuries at about 7 p.m. Sunday. Investigators announced his death Tuesday.

Police arrested 58-year-old Robert McGhee on suspicion of vehicular assault and driving under the influence. Those charges will be amended to include vehicular homicide.
