MILTON, Ga. — Police say a man was critically wounded after what is described as the first-ever officer involved shooting in the metro Atlanta city of Milton.
WSB Radio reports (http://bit.ly/ISeavD) that the ordeal began Tuesday night when a 911 caller reported that the man was making threats to himself and others in postings on Facebook. Milton police then went to the 43-year-old man's townhome on Morris Road and tried to talk with him through the front door.
Milton police Capt. Shawn McCarty says that during the negotiations, the man aimed a gun at officers and one of them opened fire.
The man was hit in the arm and chest and was taken to a hospital. No officers were hurt in the gunfire.
