SAVANNAH, Georgia — Police say a 14-year-old boy was wounded by gunfire after someone fired several shots into an apartment where he and others were sleeping.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police say the gunfire happened during one of two shootings early Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the 14-year-old was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg after shots were fired at a house on Southeast 36th Street in which he and other children and teens were sleeping.

Also early Wednesday, police found that several shots had been fired at windows of a home in the Yamacraw Village area.

The Savannah Morning News reports (http://bit.ly/181L7VM) that occupants of that home were sleeping inside at the time, but no one was hurt.
