FLAGSTAFF, Arizona — A man wanted in Ohio for failing to register as a convicted sex offender and for violating parole has been arrested in northern Arizona.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Christopher Comerford was taken into custody Monday at a Flagstaff-area hotel, where he was registered under a fake name.

Arrest warrants were issued last week for Comerford out of Franklin County, Ohio.

Authorities say he violated parole on underlying charges of attempted murder, felonious assault and corruption of a minor.

Ohio-based Deputy U.S. Marshals developed information that Comerford had fled to Arizona and notified the U.S. Marshals Service's Flagstaff Division.

He was arrested without incident and now is facing extradition to Ohio.
