Coroner: Inmate found unresponsive in cell at Boulder County Jail hanged herself


BOULDER, Colorado — Authorities say an inmate who was found unresponsive in her cell at the Boulder County Jail hanged herself.

The Daily Camera reports ( ) 34-year-old Kimberly Kuhrts, of Boulder, was found unresponsive in her cell at about 1:15 a.m. on May 21. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Court records show Kuhrts had two pending criminal cases against her in Boulder County. In one case, she was facing charges of second-degree burglary and aggravated motor vehicle theft. In the other case, she was facing charges of second-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault.
