Contractors digging in the Monument area found Genesis' body in 2010 buried at a home where Sims and his girlfriend, Monique Lynch, had once lived. Court documents indicate each blamed the other for abuse of Genesis. Prosecutors say neither sought medical attention for her.

Lynch pleaded guilty to child abuse causing death and was sentenced last year to 27 years in prison.
