Arrington scores double-double to lead Morehead State in 87-55 drubbing of Jacksonville State

MOREHEAD, Ken. — Brent Arrington scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and dished six assists Saturday and Morehead State routed Jacksonville State 87-55, to earn the No. 5 seed and play Southeast Missouri next Wednesday in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.

Karam Mashour scored 15 points, Billy Reader had 13 and Angelo Warner added 12 for the Eagles (15-16, 10-6), who outrebounded the Gamecocks 55-33 and scored 34 field goals on 24 assists.

Jacksonville State led briefly until Mashour hit a jumper to spark a 12-2 run and Morehead State led 25-16. Mashour scored 13 in the half and the Eagles led 41-31 at halftime.

The Eagles opened the second half with a 17-5 run and were in firm control, 74-47, with 4:08 left.

Avery Moore scored 19 points for Jacksonville State (12-19, 5-11), which entered the game in fourth place in the conference's east division. Darion Rackley had 12 points and D.J. Felder added 10.
