Charlotte-Mecklenburg police seize guns and drugs, arrest 7 on multiple felony charges

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — Seven people are in custody after officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department seized stolen guns, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition and crack cocaine from a local residence.

A statement issued Thursday said officers and members of the SWAT team executed a search warrant. The officers seized 20 guns, including several that had been reported stolen, as well as tactical gear, over 1,000 rounds of ammunition and crack cocaine.

Officials say officers were able to recover multiple items from the residence that had been taken from home break-ins throughout the city.

The seven were arrested without incident.
