RACELAND, La. — A 53-year-old Gramercy woman has been arrested and booked with defrauding the state's Medicaid Program.
Attorney General Buddy Caldwell said Wednesday that Linda D. Bourgeois (BOORZ'-wah), a personal care attendant, defrauded the state through fraudulent claims and forging another's signature on documents in to get greater compensation.
He says an investigation revealed that Bourgeois added fraudulent hours to her time sheets on 19 separate occasions in 2009.

Bourgeois surrendered to state agents on Monday and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
It could not be determined if Bourgeois has an attorney.
