Bandon, Oregon, man arrested after accidentally shooting his hand

BANDON, Oregon — Bandon police arrested a convicted felon who they say shot himself in the hand.

The Coos Bay World reports (http://is.gd/UU3vUG) that Ian Geer accidentally fired the weapon while trying to put it away Saturday night.

The 24-year-old Bandon man taken to the hospital and then booked in the Coos County Jail on charges of violating parole and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Court records show Geer has prior arrests stretching back to his teenage years. Charges included theft, trespassing, criminal mischief and other offenses.
