Svihovec, Michael each score 24 to lead Northern Colorado to an 88-78 win over North Dakota


GRAND FORKS, North Dakota — Tevin Svihovec had 24 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to lead Northern Colorado to an 88-78 overtime win over North Dakota on Saturday.

Northern Colorado started overtime on a 9-2 run and hit 8 of 8 free throws in the final minute. Svihovec and Cameron Michael had six points apiece in the extra frame.

Michael finished with 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting and Tim Huskinsson added 19 points, including three 3-pointers, for Northern Colorado (9-7, 4-1 Big Sky).

Estan Tyler led North Dakota (5-11, 1-4) with 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field and 4 of 5 from beyond the arc. His 3-pointer as time expired forced overtime.

Quinton Hooker and Carson Shanks had 14 points apiece for North Dakota. Hooker also had 10 rebounds.
