CHELSEA, Vermont — A Vermont woman facing trial for the Christmas Day 2012 shooting death of her ex-boyfriend has pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter.

The Valley News reports (http://bit.ly/1sl6o5s) Anne-Marie Whiteway was sentenced in Orange County Superior Court on Monday to nine to 15 years in prison with credit for time served.

The 52-year-old Whiteway has been held without bail since her arrest on Dec. 26, 2012, in the shooting death of Dale Rock. Her trial was scheduled for later this month.

Police said Whiteway shot the 43-year-old Rock in the head after arriving at his Newbury home and finding her sister-in-law had moved in with him.
