Trooper: 7 children suffer minor injuries after 18-year-old hits school bus in Missouri

BERTRAND, Missouri — Troopers say a woman and seven children have been injured after a vehicle rear-ended a school bus in southeast Missouri.

The Sikeston Standard Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/1rp6yXx ) the accident happened Wednesday in Bertrand. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an 18-year-old woman hit the bus, which was coming to a stop to pick up students along Highway 62.

The woman was seriously injured and flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital. The students, ages 5 to 13, suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital in Sikeston.

No charges have been reported.
