Utah's latest unemployment data shows jobless rate held steady in February at 3.4 percent

SALT LAKE CITY — State officials say Utah's jobless rate held steady last month.

Numbers released from Utah's Department of Workforce Services on Friday show the unemployment rate in February was 3.4 percent.

That's where the state's rate hovered in late 2008 before the economic recession.

It's also still well below the national unemployment rate, which was about 5.5 percent in February.

Workforce Services says about 49,900 Utah residents were unemployed but looking for work last month.
