Both sides in ex-Ind. trooper's third murder trial to test DNA linked to blood on his shirt

ROCKPORT, Indiana — Both sides in the third murder trial of a former Indiana state trooper will test DNA on the shirt he wore on the day his wife and two young children were killed.

The DNA is linked to a dispute over how blood got on David Camm's T-shirt. Prosecutors say it spattered onto the shirt when he shot the victims. Camm's lawyers say the shirt was bloodied when he tried to give his son CPR.

Special Prosecutor Stanley Levco is having the DNA on a specific area tested by a Chicago laboratory. The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Kentucky, reports (http://cjky.it/11Tcg4n) a judge Wednesday gave Camm's defense the go-ahead to do its own testing on the same part of the shirt.

Camm's third trial is set to begin Aug. 5 near Indianapolis.
