Shooting at Kroger store in Memphis leaves wife, husband dead


MEMPHIS, Tennessee — Police say two people have died in a shooting at a Kroger supermarket in Memphis.

Memphis police said a 39-year-old woman was arriving for work at the store early Wednesday when her car was rammed on the driver's side by a sport utility vehicle being driven by her husband.

Police said the man started shooting at the woman when she exited her car through a passenger door. Police said an officer arrived at the scene and the man pointed a gun at him, yelling for the officer to kill him.

Police said the 36-year-old man then shot himself.

The woman died at the scene of the shooting. The man died at a hospital. Police have not released their names.
