Police: Man, 28, found shot to death in Springfield neighborhood

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts — Springfield police are investigating the city's 17th homicide of the year.

A department spokesman said Friday that 28-year-old Kenneth Taitt was shot in the city's Forest park neighborhood at about 2 p.m. Thursday. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The city's gunshot detection system recorded as many as six shots.

Police haven't released a motive and have not announced an arrest. Preliminary reports say two cars were seen leaving the area after the shooting but it's unknown if gunfire came from either vehicle.
