Riding the rail: Artic North rallies to capture Belmont Park feature

NEW YORK — Artic North rallied up the rail to beat Global Strike by a half-length Thursday in the $80,000 allowance feature on the turf at Belmont Park.

Irad Ortiz Jr. guided the 2-1 favorite to his fourth win in 18 starts. The 6-year-old gelding trained by Patrick Reynolds ran the 1 1/2 miles in 2:26.12 on the firm course.

Artic North paid $6.40, $3.60 and $2.40.

Global Strike returned $3.60 and $2.60 and Heyaarat paid $2.60 to show.
