GONZALES, Louisiana — A man who was previously released from jail for failure to register as a sex offender has been arrested for the same charge.

The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1IpSu8v) reports 36-year-old Wade Pardue was charged Monday with failure to register as a sex offender and resisting an officer. Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley said in a news release deputies received information of Pardue's whereabouts.

The release also said Pardue ran when he saw the deputies and was captured after a short chase.

Pardue was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 1999 and placed on probation until 2004.

Pardue failed to register as a sex offender twice in 2011 and was arrested. In February, he was released.

It is unclear if Pardue has a lawyer.
