PALMYRA, Virginia — The Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in finding a man who disappeared in 2011.

Robert Lee Hourihan was last seen on April 8, 2011, at a grocery store in Palmyra. He was driving his wife's car, which was found on May 28, 2011, abandoned in a Target parking lot in La Plata, Maryland.

The sheriff's office said Wednesday that investigators initially believed Hourihan was going to work in Richmond that morning. They later learned he was to meet an acquaintance in Fluvanna County. The acquaintance told investigators that Hourihan never arrived for the meeting.

Anyone with information about the case can contact Lt. David Wells at 434-589-8211 or email at dwells@fluvannasheriff.com.
