Employee arrested, accused of stealing $13,000 from employer

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana — A Shreveport woman has been arrested for felony theft for allegedly stealing nearly $13,000 from her employer while working at a Youree Drive store.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, in a news release, says 30-year-old Autumn Dollarhide was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on Thursday. Bond had not been set and it was not immediately known if she had an attorney.

The sheriff's office says Dollarhide worked at Red Wing Shoes from early 2012 through February. Investigators say she was responsible for handling the store's deposits.

In February, the store's owner learned of a cash shortage from a deposit and a subsequent audit revealed a $12,821 loss since 2012. Detective Doug Smith questioned Dollarhide about the missing money and was subsequently booked with the alleged crime.
