LOVELAND, Colorado — A former Berthoud police officer accused by his teenage daughter of beating her with ropes and tying her hands has pleaded not guilty to four counts of child abuse and one count of false imprisonment.
Jeremy Yachik appeared in Larimer County Court on Monday. He and his lawyer declined comment.
According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald (http://tinyurl.com/la9o785 ), Yachik will now face a four-day jury trial, set to begin March 11.
Berthoud officials decided to have Larimer County Sheriff's Sgt. John Feyen serve as the town's police chief during the investigation. Meanwhile, Berthoud Police Chief Glenn Johnson has been put on administrative leave.
