Early morning crash in Onondaga County kills motorcyclist

CAMILLUS, New York — Police say a motorcyclist has died in an early morning crash in Onondaga County.

Police in the Syracuse suburb of Camillus say the rider went off the shoulder of the Route 5 eastbound on-ramp and struck a guard rail shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday.

The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The rider's name isn't being released until relatives are notified.
