Jefferson Parish deputies look for 2 accused of baseball-bat beating of man who died Tuesday

GRETNA, Louisiana — Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies are looking for two men accused of beating a man with a baseball bat, and have only their nicknames to go by.

Sheriff Newell Normand is asking the public to help Detective Rhonda Goff find men nicknamed "Nanoonie" and "Tae Tae."

Col. John Fortunato says they're wanted for questioning in the death on Tuesday of 31-year-old Chezare Lawson of Westwego.

He says Lawson's family told Goff that Lawson chose not to see a doctor immediately after the alleged beating on April 27 at a discount store in Marrero, but went to West Jefferson Medical Center after a seizure that night. He died three days later.
