COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — Court records are shedding more light on what might have led to the shooting death of a man whose body was found in a Pueblo creek last month.

Nineteen-year-old Jessy Jo Barnes is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Daniel Cressey. Meanwhile, 48-year-old Howard Box, who's suspected of helping her dump the body, faces a charge of being an accessory to the crime.

Court documents obtained by The Gazette (http://bit.ly/1qF3h4w ) say Barnes told detectives that on the night of the shooting Cressey became afraid and upset because of an earlier fight he had been in with Box involving a stolen ring, bag of drugs and $10. Barnes told investigators Cressey's behavior prompted her to grab a handgun and shoot him twice in the chest, according to the records.
