Western NY man pleads guilty to DWI, other charges in 2-county, 40-mile chase last Dec.

BATAVIA, New York — A 42-year-old man has admitted he was drunk behind the wheel when he led police on a 40-mile chase in western New York last year.

The Daily News of Batavia reports (http://bit.ly/ZEHGh5 ) that Ronald Worthington of Batavia pleaded guilty Thursday in Genesee County Court to reckless endangerment, driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest.

Worthington said he was drunk the night of Dec. 3 when he led police on a chase that began on the Thruway in Genesee County and continued west into neighboring Erie County. He made a U-turn at the toll barrier at Williamsville and drove east before ramming his car into a state police patrol vehicle in Batavia.

Police said Worthington reached speeds of up to 100 mph during the chase.

He's scheduled to be sentenced June 26.
