WEST TRAVERSE TOWNSHIP, Michigan — Authorities say two Florida residents are dead following a single-vehicle crash in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula.

The Emmet County sheriff's department says 30-year-old driver Ashley Rene Goethals of Jupiter and 39-year-old passenger Andrew Michael Price of Lake Park died in the crash in West Traverse Township. Goethals was a former resident of Petoskey, Michigan.

The vehicle went off the road and into a wooded area. Deputies responded after another motorist came across the accident scene Tuesday morning.

The sheriff's department says Wednesday that the crash is under investigation.
