SALT LAKE CITY — Two county district attorneys in Utah are investigating whether the Utah Attorney General's Office broke any state laws.
Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill and Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings released a statement Thursday that had few details but said the investigation has been in conjunction with federal authorities and has been ongoing for months.
Gill and Rawlings would not elaborate on the investigation.
Attorney General John Swallow is the subject of a federal investigation and target of complaints filed at the Utah State Bar Association.
The state elections office has also appointed special counsel to investigate whether he broke election disclosure laws.
Swallow and his attorneys say the allegations have been without merit and expect his name will be cleared when the investigations are complete.
