ST. LOUIS — A 31-year-old St. Louis man has been sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years for a deadly 2011 home invasion.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (bit.ly/1jNYvfJ ) reports that Daaron Harris was sentenced Friday after a jury found him guilty in May of first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and armed criminal action.

Harris was convicted of killing 20-year-old Deon Greenwood in the city's College Hill neighborhood in a daytime shooting in which several children were home at the time.

Harris told police he was retaliating for an earlier shooting, but prosecutors say Harris mistakenly targeted the wrong home.

Police suspect a second shooter was also involved, but no other arrests have been made.
