Interim superintendent picked for Burlington schools


BURLINGTON, Vermont — The Burlington School Board has appointed an interim superintendent after the last one resigned following a report that showed her office had been making budget errors.

The Burlington Free Press reports ( Stephanie Phillips, the district's curriculum director, was named interim superintendent Tuesday. She had served as acting superintendent for several weeks after former Superintendent Jeanne Collins resigned.

A search for a permanent superintendent is planned within the next couple of months, with the goal of hiring someone by March 1, 2015.
