UNC Asheville builds 20 point lead, cruises by Coastal Carolina, 75-65

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina — Andrew Rowsey scored 17 points and added five assists to lead UNC Asheville to a 75-65 victory over Coastal Carolina 75-65 on Thursday night.

David Robertson added 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and Kevin Vannatta finished with 13 points for the Bulldogs (9-9, 5-2 Big South).

UNC Asheville shot 52.1 percent from the field, tallied 16 total assists, and finished plus-6 in the rebounding battle. Overall, the Bulldogs are 8-1 this season when out-rebounding their opponents.

UNC Asheville led 40-26 at the half, helped by a 9-2 run midway through the period. The Bulldogs would continue to build their lead in the second half, pushing it to as many as 20.

Warren Gillis scored 14 points to lead Coastal Carolina (14-5, 5-2). Elijah Wilson added 13 points and six rebounds for the Chanticleers.
