VINTON, Louisiana — Mr. Z is the 5-2 morning-line favorite for the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot for 2-year-olds Saturday.

A field of 12, including two also eligible horses, was entered Tuesday for the 1 1/16-mile race.

Mr. Z is trained by Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas and will be ridden by Paco Lopez. Mr. Z drew the No. 3 post.

Golden Actor, trained by Ignacio Roncancio, is the 7-2 second choice. Conquest Tsunami, trained by Mark Casse, is the 4-1 third choice.

Ocho Ocho Ocho, ridden by Hall of Famer Mike Smith, is the 6-1 fourth choice.

A pair of Hall of Famers, jockey Russell Baze and trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, team up with Prime Engine, the 8-1 fifth choice.

The winner will earn $600,000 and 10 points toward a possible starting position in next year's Kentucky Derby.
