2 people found dead after Glendale house catches fire


GLENDALE, Arizona — Authorities say two people have died after their Glendale home caught fire.

Glendale fire spokesman Jose Morales says crews responded around 9 p.m. Friday to a blaze at a single-story home near 61st Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

Morales says firefighters broke down the door and found a teenage boy in a wheelchair in a central living room. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crews searched the home and found an adult woman in the back of the house. She was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.

There were no other injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Glendale police are also investigating.
