ELKHART, Indiana — Police say one of two people from New Jersey struck by a car in northern Indiana has died from his injuries.

Elkhart Assistant Police Chief Laura Koch says 66-year-old Darryl Foyuth of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, died at South Bend Memorial Hospital after being struck by the car Monday night.

Koch says 60-year-old Maryann Foyuth, also of Lawrenceville, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The relationship between the Foyuths wasn't clear.

Koch says the two were struck on an Elkhart street by a car driven by 57-year-old Valerie Neal of Elkhart.

The investigation into the incident was continuing.

Elkhart is 15 miles east of South Bend.
