CARBONDALE, Pennsylvania — Four northeastern Pennsylvania firefighters were injured while battling a house fire.
Carbondale Fire Chief Chris Pezak said the second floor of the engulfed house collapsed Monday. Two firefighters were injured from the fall and two others were pinned underneath.
Pezak said two firefighters were hospitalized with chest injuries and may have broken bones. The other two were treated and released.
The four injured firefighters were from fire departments in Carbondale, Jermyn and Mayfield.
The owner of the home wasn't there at the time the fire broke out around 11 a.m.
