Celtic loses 2-1 at Dundee United to end champions' 8-game winning run in Scottish league

GLASGOW, Scotland — Celtic's eight-game winning run in the Scottish Premiership came to an end with a 2-1 loss at Dundee United that revived the title race on Sunday.

Goals by Turkish striker Nadir Ciftci and Stuart Armstrong gave United a 2-0 lead by the 65th minute, before Leigh Griffiths scored an 87th-minute reply for Celtic. Griffiths struck the post in stoppage time.

United moved into second place and tied on 34 points with Aberdeen, with both teams four points behind Celtic after 17 rounds.

Aberdeen beat Kilmarnock 1-0 on Saturday.
