Anthony says judge's remarks show she can't get fair civil trial in Orlando

ORLANDO, Florida — Casey Anthony's attorneys say comments made by the judge who presided over her criminal trial raise questions about whether she can get a fair defamation hearing in state court in Orlando.

Anthony's attorneys filed motions Friday in her bankruptcy case suggesting that Judge Belvin Perry's remarks may have "trampled" principles judges are supposed to follow.

Perry told NBC's "Today" show last week that he believes there was enough evidence to convict the Florida mother who was acquitted in 2011 of murdering her 2-year-old daughter. Perry has no connection to the defamation or bankruptcy cases.

The filings by Anthony's bankruptcy attorneys are in response to two people suing Anthony for defamation. They asked a judge to lift stays on their cases which were issued pending resolution of the bankruptcy case.
