Moss Point man ordered behind bars for 18 years for sexual assault of friend's daughter


PASCAGOULA, Mississippi — A 33-year-old Moss Point man has been ordered behind bars for 18 years for the sexual assault of a friend's daughter.

Prosecutors say the victim of Robert Dwight Williams Jr. was under the age of 14.

The Sun Herald reports ( ) Williams pleaded guilty on two counts of sexual battery. He was sentenced in Jackson County Circuit Court.

Williams will not be eligible for early release from prison and must register as a sex offender after his time is served.

Williams was sentenced Feb. 23. Details were released by the District Attorney's Office on Monday.
