State to renovate 3 boating access sites in eastern Virginia; projects to cost more than $1m

RICHMOND, Virginia — Three boating access sites in eastern Virginia will soon get makeovers.

The Virginia Department of Games and Inland Fisheries says the renovations include re-decking the docks and fishing pier at West Point Landing in King William County, replacing and expanding the launching piers at Fox Hill/Dandy Point Landing in Hampton, and re-decking and expanding the dock at Town Point Landing in Mathews County.

The projects will be completed in time for the spring 2016 fishing and boating season.

The department says in a news release that it will invest more than $1 million in the projects. The projects are partially funded by the federal Sport Restoration Act.
